The General Motors Roadside Assistance service is available 24 hours per day, every day of the year. This particular service is available at no extra charge for any situation that is covered by the warranty. If the vehicle is no longer protected under warranty, the service is still available for a nominal fee. The Roadside Assistance Program is applicable in the U.S.A. and Canada only.
2. What does Courtesy Transportation include?
The Courtesy Transportation program is part of the 5 years/100,000-mile coverage for all of the 2009 passenger vehicles and light duty trucks. If/when repairs covered by warranty are necessary, transportation options are made available for your convenience. In addition, reimbursement for transportation expenses is made available for you at the discretion of participating dealers/retailers.
3. Are there any deductibles for the provided protection?
There are no deductibles necessary for repairs covered by warranty.
4. What about rust damage?
General Motors vehicles are designs for long-lasting durability. This means that they are designed to resist damage from rust corrosion. All components are protected against damage from rust-through corrosion for 6 years, or 100,000 miles. It is not necessary to apply any rust-reducing materials for the corrosion coverage to be valid. No third-party material is necessary or recommended. Be sure to check with your GM dealer for specific terms of this warranty.
5. Where do I take my vehicle for maintenance to eligible for the extended powertrain?
You are not required to take your vehicle to be served at a GM dealership, however, it is recommended that you do to increase the longevity of your vehicle. Our General Motors dealers and retailers have the special training with GM vehicles and GM parts and accessories that is required to keep your vehicle in good condition. Be sure to maintain detailed records of your receipts and maintenance history.
6. Will the powertrain limited warranty change maintenance of my vehicle?
The Owner’s Manual contains a detailed recommended maintenance schedule that you should follow. The manual includes specific instructions for your specific vehicle and driving habits. As the owner of the vehicle, it is your responsibility to keep the vehicle on its maintenance schedule.
7. If my vehicle is manufactured in 2006 or older, can I purchase extra powertrain coverage?
Contact the dealership that sold you the vehicle and ask about the various GM Protection Plan programs. You may be eligible to choose from one of the GMPP programs which can be designed to meet your specific needs. These needs include extended powertrain coverage, if it is necessary.
